Susan Alex, M.D.
Dr. Susan Alex is a medical graduate of Trivandrum Medical College in Kerala, India. Her fellowship in nephrology and residency in internal medicine were at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Boston, Mass. She worked as a staff physician at Boston Veterans Administration Hospital and as assistant clinical professor of medicine at Boston University School of Medicine. Before specializing in nephrology, Dr. Alex practiced emergency medicine at hospitals in India, Nigeria and the United States. She is board certified in both internal medicine and nephrology and has been designated a specialist in clinical hypertension.

Ram Chary, M.D.
Dr. Chary was Jackson's first full-time nephrologist when he moved to town in 1980. A native of India, Dr. Chary earned his medical degree at Gandhi Medical College. His internship and internal medicine residency were at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y. His fellowship in nephrology was at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. He is board certified in internal medicine and in nephrology.




Shirish "Joe" Joglekar, M.D.
Dr. Joglekar, a board-certified nephrologist, came to Jackson in 1991. Before that, he taught medicine and nephrology at Downs State Medical Center Affiliated Program. He earned his medical degree at Grant Medical College in Bombay, India. His residencies were at J.J. Hospital and L.T.M. Hospital, both in Bombay, and Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey, N.J. His fellowship in nephrology was at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Washington, D.C.



R. Mulay, M.D.
Dr. R. Mulay, who practices in the group’s Dyersburg office, is a board-certified nephrologist, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease.
Dr. Mulay completed his undergraduate education at Dr. V.M. Medical College in Sholapur, India. He received his medical degree from Government Medical College in Aurangabad, India. His internship was at Sasson General Hospital in India.
Dr. Mulay’s residency in internal medicine was at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brookland, New York. It was followed by a fellowship in nephrology at Brown University’s Rhode Island Hospital. He has received accreditation from the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Nephrology, the Fellowship of the American College of Physicians and the American Board of Geriatrics.

Murty Narapareddy, M.D.
Dr. Narapareddy is a medical graduate of Andhra Medical College in India. Dr. Murty moved to Jackson in late 1998. Before specializing in nephrology, he worked in the West Indies in surgery and allied branches and emergency medicine. His residency in internal medicine was at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y., and his fellowship in nephrology was at Kings County Hospital Center and State University of New York, Health Science Center, in Brooklyn. He is board certified in both internal medicine and nephrology.
